Read the following:-

1. G.O.Rt.No.2277, G.A (Poll.B) Department, dated:04.12.2025.

2. From the Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board, Vijayawada, F.No.E1/21/2016-AP, dated: 15.06.2026.

ORDER:

In the G.O. first read above, Government have issued orders declaring 25.06.2026 (Thursday) as General Holiday on the occasion of Moharram (Shahadat Imam Hussian RA, 1447 Hijri) under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, for the year 2026.

In the letter 2nd read above, the Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board, Vijayawada, has informed that the 10th Moharram on 26.06.2026 (Friday). as per moon citing (Lunar Calendar). Hence, the public holiday on 26.06.2026 (Friday) are to be declared instead of 25.06.2026 (Thursday) specified in the Government Calendar and requested to declare the Public Holiday on 26.06.2026 instead of 25.06.2026.

The Government, after careful consideration of the matter, have decided to change the General Holiday on the occasion of 10th Moharram to 26.06.2026 (Friday) instead of 25.06.2026 (Thursday). Accordingly, the following notification shall be published in the Extra-ordinary Gazette of Andhra Pradesh State: -

NOTIFICATION

In partial modification of the orders issued in G.O.Rt.No.2277, G.A(Poll.B) Department, dated:04.12.2025, notifying the General Holidays under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 for the year 2026, the Government hereby declare 26.06.2026 (Friday) as General Holiday on the occasion of 10th Moharram instead of 25.06.2026 (Thursday).
